Cuba
has a road infrastructure and a system of transport that they
connect all the points of the country, the transport for bus is
more (there are two lines: Astros and Via Azul, with bigger comfort

destinations and the railroad connects the main cities of the

In
Cuba the tourist's currency basically is the Cuban Peso Convertible
(1 Cuban Peso Convertible = 1 American Dollar), with this currency
all the services and available products can be obtained in the
country, although certain services and products can also be obtained
in Cuban pesos (no convertibles), mainly products in sale in agricultural
markets and foods offered by salespersons in the street (example:
pizzas). The Euro is a currency with circulation in Varadero,
Jardines del Rey, Norte de Holguin and some places at Havana.
All
purchases have to be made in the Cuban convertible peso (which
will still be on a par with the US dollar). It is possible to
exchange US currency, but a 10% fee will be charged to exchange
US dollars in cash. It will also be possible to exchange Canadian
currency and traveller's cheques, Euros, Sterling Pounds and Swiss
Francs at major hotels and banks and at international airports
for Cuban convertible pesos without the 10% commission fee.
It
will be possible to exchange Cuban convertible pesos back to US
dollars or other currency at the international airports before
leaving the country. We recommend that you change your currency
while in Cuba since it is not possible to exchange Cuban convertible
pesos outside of Cuba.
There
are accepted credit card of Cabal, Transcard, Visa, MasterCard
Internacional, Access, Bancomer International Eurocard, Banamex,
Dinners Club International, JCB and Carnet, whenever they have
not been emitted by North American banks or their branches and
means of payment of national use emitted by the International
Financial Bank (cards BFI) and for the banks of Credit and Trade,
Subway, Popular of Saving and BICSA (cards NET).
The
prices of the foods and the drinks vary in dependence of the category
of the establishment, a soda can cost between 0.45 and 2.00 dollars;
a beer, between 0.75 and 4.00 dollars; a bottle of wine, between
5 and 600 dollars; a bottle of Cuban rum, between 3 and 100 dollars;
and a meal between 5 and 40 dollars for person. On the other hand
the lodging in hotels and villages varies between 50 and 200 dollars
for double room and night and enter 15 and 25 dollars in the particular
